The “One Voice” project brought together a few of the diverse communities in Basildon with the aim to formally establish an official Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic (BAME) forum for Basildon Borough with the hope of having a sustainable Basildon BME Community Forum. The purpose of the BAME forum is to promote active engagement with the council and other working groups within the borough inorder to foster healthy community cohesion.
The “One Voice” project delivered monthly meetings/workshops, facilitated group sessions and networking events that has forged sustainable long-term relationship growth in the community and improved relationships within and externally to the BAME community.
Project activities empowered, support and created networking platforms for BAMEs in the community with a focus on better integration into the wider community.
